Able FAQ
About Able
What is Able?
Able is an AI agent purpose-built for documenting a recovery journey. It checks in with you by email, takes quick updates on Telegram, and turns them into a dated record you can actually use. If you're recovering from an injury with a personal injury case, that record helps your legal team see what the injury has cost you, without you reconstructing months of recovery from memory.
Who is Able for?
People recovering from an injury, especially those working with a legal team on a personal injury claim. Injured athletes use it too, to keep a clear record for themselves and their agent.
Why keep a record at all?
Recovery is long, and details fade fast. The nights pain woke you, the outing you had to leave early, the help you needed getting dressed: months later, those are hard to recall with any accuracy. Able captures them while they're fresh, along with the other side of the story: the progress and adaptation you earned along the way.
Is Able a person?
No. Able is an AI agent. It isn't a doctor, therapist or lawyer, and it doesn't give medical or legal advice. When something is a question for your care team or your attorney, Able says so and makes sure it's in your journal for that conversation.
Getting started
How do I sign up?
Able is in early access, and we're opening it mostly by personal invitation. Start from the invite link you were sent, or sign up at helloable.ai. Either way, you'll have a short conversation where you tell Able what happened, agree on what it should keep track of, and pick when you'd like check-ins. Your first check-in arrives on the schedule you choose.
Do I need Telegram?
Yes. Telegram is where you talk with your Able agent: to add something the moment it happens, ask about your journal, or change your check-in schedule. Check-ins arrive by email, and replying there works too. Telegram is a free messaging app.
How much time does it take?
A few minutes a check-in. Many people reply with voice-to-text right inside the email.
Check-ins
What is a check-in?
A short email with the questions that matter that day: how you slept, where the pain is, what you could and couldn't do, appointments and medication changes, who you heard from. Just hit reply and answer.
Do I have to answer every question?
No. The questions are reminders of what's worth noting, not a survey. Write it the way it comes naturally; if you cover something under a different question, Able still catches it.
Will I get the same questions every day?
No. Questions that are settled drop away, and new ones come from what you've told Able recently. If there's something you want followed, like a new symptom or an upcoming procedure, just tell Able to keep track of it.
How do I change when check-ins arrive?
Tell Able on Telegram. You can change the time or pause for a while. Able confirms the change with you before making it.
I missed a few days. Should I go back and answer them?
No. Details are most reliable while they're fresh, so don't answer old check-ins days later. Instead, send a general update on the stretch you missed to able@helloable.ai, and pick up with the next check-in.
Which email address should I reply from?
The one you signed up with. Replies from other addresses aren't added to your journal.
Between check-ins
Something happened. What do I do?
Tell Able on Telegram while it's fresh: a rough night, an outing you had to cut short, a medication change, a small win. Able may ask a quick question to get the detail right, then adds it to your journal and confirms with a ✓.
Can I ask Able about my own journal?
Yes. Ask things like "When did I last see my physical therapist?" or "How has my sleep been this month?" Able searches your journal and answers with dates. A thorough answer can take a little time; Able favors getting it right over getting it fast.
Does everything I say on Telegram go into my journal?
Updates about your recovery do. Questions you ask Able, like the ones above, don't.
Can I send photos?
Yes. Photos are saved to your journal with your caption. Able can't see what's in a photo yet, so add a line describing it. Video isn't supported yet.
Your journal and reports
What do I get from Able?
- Your journal: every check-in reply and update, saved by date in your own words.
- Personal Reflection: a weekly look at the arc of your recovery. It's honest about the hard parts and brings out the progress you earned.
- Attorney View: a weekly summary for your legal team of how the injury is affecting your life, shared only when you approve it.
Each Monday, Able emails you when your reports are ready to review.
Does Able send anything to my attorney on its own?
Never. You review each Attorney View first, and it goes nowhere without your approval.
Does the Attorney View include everything I write?
No. It's a focused account of what the injury has cost you, not a copy of your journal. Personal details that have nothing to do with the injury are left out.
Can I edit or delete an entry?
Yes, from your journal on helloable.ai. New reports use your corrected text; reports already shared stay as they were. Able keeps a private record of the original wording.
Privacy and safety
Who can see my journal?
You. Your legal team sees only the reports you approve. Able Systems staff don't browse journals; access is limited to keeping the service running safely or helping when you ask.
Does Able learn about me?
Yes, and it gets better the more you use it. Able builds an understanding of your recovery over time: your routine, the people involved in your care, what's settled and what's still open. That's why your check-ins change as you go, and why Able can answer questions about your journal with dates.
What Able learns about you stays with your account. Your journal isn't used to train general-purpose AI models, and it's never sold or used for advertising. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Can I get a copy of my data, or delete it?
Yes. Email support@helloable.ai to access, correct, export or delete your information.
Is there anything I shouldn't write?
Write what's true about your recovery, in your own words. If you're working with a legal team, ask them whether there's anything to keep out of your journal, such as conversations with your attorney.
What if I'm in crisis or need urgent help?
Able isn't monitored around the clock and isn't for emergencies. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For a mental health crisis in the US, call or text 988. If something you write sounds urgent, Able will reply with these numbers.
For attorneys and agents
What does Able give a legal team?
A weekly summary, approved by your client, of how the injury is affecting their life: pain, sleep, treatment, lost independence, and the burden on work and family. It's drawn from dated entries your client made at the time, so the account of their recovery doesn't depend on what they can remember months later.
Can I see my client's full journal?
No. The journal belongs to your client. You receive the summaries they approve.
What do I need to do?
Nothing beyond reading the summaries. Able handles the check-ins, follow-ups and writing; your client stays in control of what's shared.
I represent injured athletes. Does this apply?
Yes, especially when money is on the line. An athlete gets a clear, dated record of their injury and recovery, written at the time rather than reconstructed later. If a contract question or injury-related claim comes up, that record is already there. Your athlete can share the same approved weekly summary with you.
How do I get my clients started?
Email support@helloable.ai and we'll set up invitations.
